Maddie Immel
Maddie is an Associate specializing in community engagement, strategy, and policy, drawing from her background in the nonprofit sector. Before pursuing her master’s degree, Maddie worked as the Community Engagement Manager at Next Up, a Portland-based nonprofit engaging youth in politics and social justice, where she developed her capacity for promoting equitable systemic change. Maddie expanded the organization’s volunteer base to break down barriers disproportionately impacting marginalized communities. Prior to joining BERK, Maddie also worked for the cities of Bellevue and Sultan. She has a Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance and a B.A. in Politics and Spanish from Willamette University.
Outside BERK
Raised in Microsoft country (i.e Redmond), Maddie has always called the Pacific Northwest home. After work, you can find Maddie knocking long hikes off her list, getting comfortable on a bike, or dragging her friends to another weekend adventure in the woods. She also enjoys reading, international travel, hosting dinner parties, KEXP, and squaredancing.
