Allegra has a background in community development, housing, and land use policy. She brings two decades of experience in policy and program development, strategic planning, and communications. A skilled facilitator, she enjoys working with committees to develop recommendations on complex questions.
Prior to joining BERK, she worked at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Allegra received her B.A. with distinction from McGill University and her M.A. in Urban Design from Oxford Brookes University. She is the Chair of the Board of the Seattle Parks Foundation, Chair of the Downtown Residents Council, and a member of King County’s Parks Levy Oversight Board. She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Tomorrow.
Originally from Canada, Allegra met her husband, Gabe, in Guatemala and moved to Boston before landing in Seattle in 2004. She spent her twenties guiding bike tours in Africa, Europe, and North America. She has toured in over 30 countries, most recently Japan and Morocco. She regularly consumes interview format podcasts, longform articles, and anything broadcast on KEXP.
